The Philippines – deliciousness underrated

One might call this paradise.  The Philippines is blessed with gorgeous pristine beaches.  Depending on where you go, generally the Philippines is less touristy than Bali and Thailand combined.  If you are into diving, the Philippines is a good place for it! 

 







And the cuisine is simply delicious!

Famous for lechon, adobo, sinigang and pancit – just to name a few.  The presentation of Filipino dishes look humble but the taste is beautiful.  If you are familiar with southeast Asian cuisine, the Filipino cuisine is very close to its neighbours - but minus the crazy killer spiciness.  This might a relief for many I suppose…  

One of my favourite dining experience was the Dampa. This is a seafood market where you choose, touch, pinch and then buy the fish and any other seafood by the gram (or kilos).








After which, you walk these yummy babies over to any of the restaurants just a lane or two behind the Dampa and they’ll cook it to your liking – grill, steam, fry, whatever… And the result?  Simply delicious!
