A chillaxing meal with a view

Once upon a time, in 1823, there used to be a greenhouse that was built within the city walls of beautiful Vienna. Today, it is known as "Palmenhaus" or the house of Palms. It is home to a butterfly atrium and next to it is Palmenhaus - a cafe, bar and brasserie.




The only place where you can find palm trees in Austria - at Palmenhaus, indoors.

Centrally located next to the Albertina and state opera in the heart of the city, this is also a good place to chillax and enjoy the sun.

So when it is hot and sunny, what could be better is to enjoy some grilled seafood. We ordered up a light but tasty seafood grill platter and some calamari to share. It was delicious.

And because it was hot (no because we love food - this is the truth!), we ordered a some sweet desserts. Simply perfect when it is hot out here.

And yes, now that we have finished our meals, We arent rushing it, we will walk across towards a fountain and perhaps, lie down on the grass. Afterall, when in Vienna, do as the Viennese do. Guten Apetit! Mahl Zeit!

About Palmenhaus
Definitely a good place to chillax in the centre of Vienna. The food is decent and the service staff is kind and they are well-staffed - so you will not be ignored. One point to note though, it can get quite touristy.
